Your ego wants to believe you should be better. But where's the evidence? And yes, I check myself on this, too. I wanted to believe I should be better than these prosecutors I'm with at public speaking. Then I had to remind myself a large part of their training and job is public speaking and speech writing. The ego on me to think I'm putting in that same level of effort 😂. My comparison added to my life by forcing an honest evaluation.
