Canada approved a grandmother for medical assistance in dying after she said she could no longer cook for her family and felt she had lost her value as the household matriarch. She did not have cancer, organ failure, or a reasonably foreseeable natural death. A later conversation with family, something the law does not require, changed her mind and she remains alive.
