Sunday Mass. 10.18.26. This homily is about how God is in control of every earthly ruler, from King Cyrus in the first reading to Caesar in the Gospel. It reflects on Jesus' call to render to God what is God's, and invites listeners to consider what they are giving to God: their hearts, souls, minds, and bodies. Rather than a life measured in years, God offers eternal life, which is a gift on His terms.
