Gunsmoke presents “Stage Smash,” episode 434 of the classic radio series, originally broadcast on July 31, 1960. William Conrad stars as Marshal Matt Dillon, with Georgia Ellis as Kitty Russell. After Dillon arrests Cleary Small, a dangerous retaliation puts Dodge City under pressure. Written by Marian Clark, this late-run radio installment finds Dillon facing a tense hostage crisis without giving in to the demands behind it. Gunsmoke presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
