John Dee Part One: The Voices in the Stone | Halloween Special 1 of 6

Podcast: Unexplained History · Tom McKenzie

A little girl seems to pass between the books in an Elizabethan scholar's study. That is the vision Edward Kelley reports, and John Dee preserves it alongside prayers, questions, and instructions he believes come from angels. The first of our six Halloween episodes follows Dee's early experiments, the ritual apparatus built around them, and the voices that begin reaching into ordinary life. This first half of his story ends as Dee commits his household to a journey away from England. The final segment examines what the surviving evidence can establish.
