SERMON - The Wedding Garment: Why Christ’s Righteousness Alone Saves

Jesus’ parable of the wedding feast shows the King inviting many—Jew and Gentile alike—yet condemning those who reject the robe provided for them. It exposes human rejection, divine judgment, and God’s plan to gather a faithful people through the Messiah. The wedding garment represents the alien righteousness of Christ given to sinners (seen in baptism and the sacraments). Salvation is not earned by personal merit but received as the robe of Christ; in gratitude, the saved live out their calling to build the new creation.
